About the documentary
The Curse of the Terracotta Warriors is the remarkable story of the Chinese peasant farmers who accidently stumbled upon one of the world’s most important treasures—the magnificent Terracotta Warriors, guardians of the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The 1974 discovery changed Xiyang from a sleepy little farming community on the outskirts of Lintong to a tourist mecca where royalty and heads of state have come to marvel at the exquisite collection of warriors, chariots, horses, artillery, and related artifacts. It propelled the modernization of one of China’s ancient capitals–nearby Xi’an. It changed our understanding of Chinese art and history, and it changed forever the lives of the peasant farmers who made the discovery. The Curse of the Terracotta Warriors tells the story through the eyes of the only three farmers still living. It is a humanistic story of pride and joy, of greed and disillusion, against the backdrop of the most important archeological find of the 20th century.

It was hard to take it out. I broke it with a pickaxe and then took it up to ground.
